- Led UNC to 1924, 1925, and 1926 SC titles
- The 6-ft.-2-in. forward averaged 15 points per game
- After losing lower right leg in a 1929 automobile accident, he gave up coaching ambitions and entered business world
- Member of Helms Athletic Foundation College Basketball Hall of Fame
- Died in 1966
