- Officially succeeded Hearn in 1957
- Compiled a record of 540-358-9
- Won SC title in 1949 and ACC titles in 1960, 1964, 1966, and 1969
- Retired in 1977
- President of the American Association of College Baseball Coaches in 1961
- Inducted into the College Coaches Hall of Fame in 1977
