- Led ACC in rushing in 1977 and 1978
- Rushed for 4,602 yards in college, still an ACC career record
- Scored 51 college touchdowns
- Finished sixth in 1978 Heisman Trophy balloting
- Rushed for 251 yards against Penn State in 1977
- Played for the Minnesota Vikings from 1979–1986
- Rushed for 4,546 yards in the pros, including 1,063 in 1981, and caught 339 passes
