- Named first-team All-ACC in 1958 and 1959
- Selected first-team All-ACC Tournament in 1958 and 1959
- Honored as ACC Player of the Year in 1959
- Second-team AP All–American, third-team UPI All-America in 1959
- Honored with the McKelvin Award as ACC’s top athlete in 1959
- Played for Wichita Vickers in National Industrial League and Sunbury in Eastern Professional League
- Coached freshman basketball at State for three seasons before leaving to enter private business
