  • Won 1953 Teague Award as top female athlete in the Carolinas
  • Member of the U.S. basketball team at 1955 Pan-American Games
  • Star softball pitcher for Hanes Hosiery and an outstanding golfer
  • Member of the NC Softball Hall of Fame
