- Won 1953 Teague Award as top female athlete in the Carolinas
- Member of the U.S. basketball team at 1955 Pan-American Games
- Star softball pitcher for Hanes Hosiery and an outstanding golfer
- Member of the NC Softball Hall of Fame
- Died June 18, 2005
