- Top woman golfer in state’s history, winning numerous titles
- Won U.S. Golf Association Women’s Amateur Championship in 1937; runner-up in 1938
- Finished second in AP voting for outstanding female athlete in 1937
- Won North and South Amateur seven times from 1935-1945
- Won Carolinas Amateur 10 times
- Member 1938 and 1948 U.S. Curtis Cup teams
- Learned golf from father, Robert, a UNC faculty member and former major league pitcher
- Died in 1983
