- Diminutive guard, led Hanes Hosiery women’s basketball team to 1951, 1952, and 1953 AAU national titles
- Team won 102 consecutive games in early 1950s
- Five-time AAU basketball All-American
- Won 1953 Teague Award as outstanding female athlete in the Carolinas
- Member U.S. gold-medal basketball team at 1955 Pan-American Games
- Played for Hanes Hosiery softball teams in 1950s
- Member North Carolina Softball Hall of Fame
- Top Winston-Salem tennis player
- Member Helms Foundation Hall of Fame
