- Transferred to Furman, where his accomplishments were the stuff of legend
- Led the NCAA in scoring his junior and senior seasons and was named a first-team All-America both years
- Averaged 32.1 points per game for his career and scored as many as 67 points in a single game
- One of four Paladins to have his jersey retired
- Died in 2000
