- At 5 ft. 10 in., scored 1,316 points for the Demon Deacons, averaging 14.8 points per game
- Served as assistant coach at Wake Forest from 1965–1969
- Began broadcasting ACC basketball games in 1972 and started covering national games in 1974
- Joined CBS in 1981
- Covered over 20 Final Fours and regarded as expert and outspoken analyst
- Named to 1987 Silver Anniversary All-America Team by National Association of Basketball Coaches
