- Named Carolinas Golf Professional of the Year in 1964
- Captured Carolinas PGA Seniors championship four times
- Co-founded American Golf Association in 1978 to promote senior golfing
- Set a world record in 1999 at 81 years old by shooting 17 shots under his age at Mimosa Hills Country Club. He tied this record again in 2006.
